To join our team as a PET STYLIST, an applicant will need to be/have:
18 years or older
Have a passion for dog grooming and the well-being of pets
Knowledgeable in breed standard grooms
Skills in scissoring, general cleaning, nail trimming, styling, and all other pet grooming functions
Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered
Position is considered a full-time
Responsibilities include:
Complete high-quality grooms (bathing, brushing, blow drying, dematting, cutting or trimming hair/ fur, gland expression, teeth brushing, nail clipping/filing, ear cleaning/plucking, and breed specific grooms)
Provide pet parents with an exceptional guest experience
Always treat all pets and pet parents with kindness and respect
Speak authentically about products and services offered
Maintain a clean, safe work area/facility
Oversee our play floors, along with other dog handlers, where dogs are playing in large groups from time to time. This involves walking around the room, encouraging dogs to socialize, and separating dogs to avoid potential incidents
Move dogs around the facility
This is a physical job. Physical requirements include:
Be on your feet for multiple hours throughout the day, including lots of walking
Be able to lift dogs of at least 25 pounds. It is very important that you ask for help in carrying anything over 25 pounds
Walk dogs on leash throughout hallways at various times of the day
Be willing and able to quickly separate dogs in off-leash group play
The most qualified candidates will have the following characteristics:
First and foremost, you must have a passion for dogs. It's what we're all about
Proper training in handling dogs
Positive handling techniques only - any abusive behavior is met with immediate termination
Professionalism (both in communicating and in personal appearance).
You must have a positive attitude and work well with other people
Competence in using computers
Detail oriented and able to keep accurate transaction records
Responsible, reliable, and prompt. Consistently being late and/or calling off is not an option.
